Permissions & Data Safety
Why the extension asks for these permissions
FormFill India uses a narrow permission set for its current features. No broader future-proof permissions are requested.
| Permission | Current use | Not used / not requested |
|---|---|---|
activeTab | Temporary access to the user-selected tab after an explicit user action such as Scan or Quick Fill. | No permanent all-site access. |
scripting | Executes the packaged scanner/filler functions in the user-selected tab, including portal-specific compatibility logic. | No remote JavaScript injection. |
storage | Stores the user-selected profile, settings, application records and local consent flag. | No cloud candidate database. |
No cookies permission
The manifest does not request cookie access.
No history permission
The manifest does not request browsing-history access.
No webRequest permission
The manifest does not request network interception.
No geolocation
The extension does not request browser geolocation.
No identity permission
No browser identity/account permission is requested for candidate login.
No host_permissions
Site access is obtained through user-invoked activeTab use.
Minimum-permission principle: If a future feature requires a new permission, it should be added only when necessary for that feature and, where possible, requested as an optional permission.
